So Big!

Sam & Sydney are getting so big! I wanted to share some recent pictures that make me smile :)

Sam & Syd are really enjoying their picnic table in their new play space in our basement.
A favorite thing is watching Sesame Street & more recently Toy Story.
It captures their attention for a few minutes at a time- it's a start.

They even sing to their babies like mommy & daddy sing to them

Christmas 2011

Christmas 2011- posted a little...well incredibly late- it seems I left them as drafts...oops.

The Indy Thorntons started Christmas on 12/24/11 in Indy- we opened presents & stockings, picked our favorites to take with us, then headed out to Ohio.

Sam & Syd got personalized chairs that rock- a favorite pastime of theirs.

In Ohio on 12/25/11-Christmas, Sydney shows "Grumpa" what she found in her stocking.
Sydney was a little confused about the mini red wagon for the mini Elmo she received- she though all wagons were for her. Below she is trying to sit on it...
Sydney sitting with "Uncle" Josh (pretty soon!) & Aunt Janessa

Sam & Syd enjoyed playing piano with daddy

Sam was worn out from all the hard work of opening presents
& just needed a rest with Grandma Lu

Back in Indy- Sydney wasn't the only one confused about the miniature toys.
Below Sam is trying to sit on Elmo's potty...at least he gets the concept?

Christmas at the Zoo 2011

Grandma Lu & Aunt Janessa were in town for Christmas at the Zoo this year.
Sam & Sydney were not interested in Santa,
but they did enjoy decorating cookies in Santa's Village.
Sam loved those sprinkles
Sydney did too

They really enjoyed eating the cookies- one of Sydney's favorite things.
She did get something from her mother ;)
I know it is late but hope you had a Great Holiday Season!

21 month update

It is crazy to think Sam & Syd are almost 21 months (almost 2 years old-wow!) They seem to learn something new everyday and I need to document some of them here so we don't forget everything!

Sam is still our sensitive little guy. When he starts to do something bad and we tell him no- he immediately gets the sad puppy dog look and comes for a hug. He loves his little brush and now spoons. Nothing calms Sam down like giving him a little pink hairbrush- Tom wishes it was a football but for now it is a hairbrush. Both Sam & Syd currently love shoes-theirs or ours. They love to tromp around the house in mommy or daddy's shoes.

Sydney is as spunky as ever! She is talking more and more and has even started using short sentences. One of Sydney's favorite things to do is to hide. I'm not sure where she learned it and I must admit it scared me a little at first-but it is super cute when she does it in the house with limited hiding possibilities. She loves to squeeze into the smallest spaces and wait until you finally find her and then she smiles up at you and says "boo"! When it comes to discipline- Sydney is a bit more difficult. If you tell her no she tends to go ahead and do it anyway. Her teachers tell us she is the one who'll be sneaking out.

Halloween 2011

I know it is December and I am posting about October

Sam & Syd got to celebrate Halloween 3 times this year,
they are well on their way to getting this trick or treating thing down.
