Tom's First Father's Day

For Tom's first Father's Day he got a picture of Syd & Sam from daycare...don't they look like a couple of mobsters in training? (notice Syd's right hand...what is she trying to say?)

At home we celebrated with cards from both Syd & Sam and a digital keychain so daddy could take pictures with him everywhere he goes. Tom then had to go to work but we had dinner ready when he got home.

Grandma Lu and Grandpa Gene visited this weekend, June 18th-20th, and Grandpa Gene met Sydney & Sam for the first time! Grandpa couldn't believe how small they were (even though now they are weighing in at Sydney 7lb 12oz and Sam 8lb 13oz- close to double their birth weight!)

Sydney's First Smile

While in Michigan, we witnessed Sydney's first smile on Sunday June 13th while Sydney was playing with Grammy Kim and Buddy the dog. Again no picture...we tried both with the camera and video camera but no luck. :(

First Road Trip

June 11th we went on our first road trip with the twins. We headed to Michigan to visit Grammy Kim and Grandpa Joe. We couldn't believe all of the things we had to take with us for a "quick" weekend trip but it taught us things we will need for our longer trip to Florida.

Sam was wide awake initially happy to just look out the window until the motion and sounds lulled him to sleep. Sydney was asleep by the end of the driveway.

At Grammy Kim's and Grandpa Joe's we had a nice relaxing weekend...

and we caught up on some sleep...

Tom and I were getting the kids ready for daycare Tuesday June 8th and Sam smiled at us!! Just to be sure it wasn't the usual gas we continued acting goofy and talking baby talk until we got more smiles...didn't get the camera in time though- we'll work on that :)

I'm a mother of twins

June 5th and 6th marked my official initiation into mommyhood of twins. Tom had to work all weekend and all of our wonderful help (Grandma Lu, Grammy Kim, Grandma Thornton, and Aunt Nessa) were no where to be found. I had slowly begun initiation earlier in the week after picking them up from daycare having to feed them both and entertain them before Tom got home but this was the real deal- all mommy all the time.
Overall, it went well- there were some crying fits...mostly from Syd & Sam but we survived! Luckily the twins eased me into things by being peaceful early on...

First day of school

Today Sam and Sydney started Beech Tree House. They are in room #2 (the bunnies). Tom and I both dropped them off this morning and made sure they were ready to go. When I picked them up after work I was told they were the "hit of the hallway". I was told other teachers kept stopping by all day to see the cute, little twins.

2 months old May 31, 2010

On Monday we took Sam and Sydney's 2 month pictures- just for my reference they are now around 7 and 8 pounds, are holding their heads up, sucking on their fists, focusing on objects and mommy and daddy and are eating 2-3 ounces every 3 hours.
