Look out world Sydney is on the move

Sydney is officially walking! Yes they are teeny, tiny, baby steps and she usually only does it when we don't look but she does it! Here is a quick video of what she let us catch!

I know this picture is a little rough but I got a kick out of it anyway. I walked into the family room a.k.a. kids toy box, and saw Sydney with her toy phone up to her ear. She had it all down from the proper phone placement, to her sounds of ha (her version of Hi), and even the hand motions. Too cute! Our little social butterfly in training.

Tim & Lindsay's wedding

We took Sam & Sydney with us to my cousin Tim's wedding in Pennsylvania on April 30th. It was a 10 hour trip and probably one of the worst trips we have taken with the kids...how could it be so bad you ask? Simply picture a 10 hour road trip with 1 year old twins that are restrained in car seats but prefer to be on the move, add temper tantrums (of all 4 family members), spoiled milk, no sleep (for the parents), and a sick kid in a hotel room and you get a slight glimpse of our weekend.

The wedding was beautiful though and while at the reception we had fun! The kids even looked adorable all dressed up- hopefully I can find some pics since those outfits had to be thrown out (please see above-spoiled milk, sick kid).

Easter 2011

Oh how things change in 1 year- it is obvious things change and kids grow up but this Easter all the cliches hit me-things change, kids grow up fast, time flies. You hear it all the time when you first have kids- but it is so true. Here is my quick comparison so everyone can experience Easter 2011 like I did.

12 months old

I can't believe it has been 12 months! As you can see by these pictures- it is getting harder and harder for these kiddos to sit still so this is the end of our monthly, posed photographs. Also a good thing because Sydney has realized these are stickers and could barely keep the 12 on her shirt or Sam's.

Sam & Sydney's Funfari first birthday party

I know this is late but- April 3rd, 2011 Sam & Sydney had their first birthday party! It was a jungle theme (they are both into animals right now and most of the ones they know fit with this theme- so we went with it). We were lucky to have Grandma & Grandpa Thornton with us for the weekend, as well as Grammy Kim & Grandpa Joe! Other friends joined us Sunday for the party.

Before Sam & Sydney's Birthday party- daddy decided to give Sam his first haircut!! I think we were all a little nervous but Sam sat pretty still and it turned out great! Sam's hair was so light after that haircut and he looks like a little boy now, a one year old- not a baby anymore.
